Ro Gupta

Ro Gupta is Managing Director of Woven Capital, Toyota’s growth-stage venture fund investing in mobility, AI, automation, and climate technology. He brings more than 25 years of experience building and scaling technology companies, combined with deep expertise in strategic partnerships across Toyota’s global ecosystem.

Ro most recently served as Vice President of Partnerships & Strategic Operations at Woven by Toyota, leading strategic partnerships and CTO Office initiatives. Prior to that, he held roles as Vice President of Corporate Business Strategy for the CEO Office and Head of the Geo engineering unit supporting Woven by Toyota’s autonomous driving division.

Ro joined Toyota in July 2021 when Woven by Toyota acquired CARMERA, the spatial AI company he co-founded and led as CEO. CARMERA pioneered the use of crowdsourced vehicle data and computer vision to generate real-time road intelligence for autonomous driving systems.

Earlier, Ro created data products at Disqus and helped grow the digital discussion network to reach billions of users. Prior to that, he held technology business development roles at Disney, and strategic advisory roles for Fortune 500s and NGOs in the United States, South America, and Africa.

Ro earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and Operations Research from Princeton University and his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Born in Kolkata, India, he is based in New York with his family.
